Workshop Attendance Policy

In order for the College to continue hosting Staff Development Workshops, we have adjusted our policy as it relates to no-shows and last minute cancellations. Certain courses have a minimum requirement of participants in order for the class to be held, such as courses that utilize computers or require group participation. Unfortunately, we continue to have a number of people who either do not show up or cancel at the last minute. When this happens we are unsuccessful in finding a substitute.

We will continue our practice of not charging units for the staff development opportunities in which their staff attend. The College’s staff development attendance policy states that for staff unable to attend a workshop, their department will be charged a pro-rated fee if they are unsuccessful in finding a substitute.  It is important that you inform us as soon as possible if you will be unable to attend a session for which you have registered.  If we have a waiting list and are able to fill your position, you will not be charged. If we do not have a waiting list it will be up to your unit to find a replacement, or your unit will be charged the fee.
